4-14-23 THOUGHTS
We have a gentile discussion before us. The inclusive nature of THE CHOSEN was defined in Christ Jesus. ALL are invited! The blood of Messiah covers the sin of believers, all of them! Christ is our PEACEMAKER! A new man idea emerges where ONENESS is key. We are RECONCILED to God, all enmity is gone. It is then said “for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.” We have become God’s HOUSEHOLD, “fellow citizens with the saints.” The word peace is used four times in this reading. So the CHOSEN idea moves from a physical people to a SPIRITUAL KINGDOM, with Christ as its head! Praise God for His infinite wisdom. The Hebrews passages are about the word ACCESS!
Eph 2:13-19 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. 17 AND HE CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE NEAR; 18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
Heb 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Heb 10:19-25 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; 24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
My Prayer:
Father, thank you for Your beautiful ways. The picture of salvation in Christ Jesus with all of its parts is truly a wonder to us. We praise You for our access into Your presence. Please, O God, may we take every advantage to live in Your presence. Keep us from the world, as we diligently yearn to know you and as we focus our minds and hearts on being your good children. May we hear Your voice and follow. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
